On August 19th, the Fund celebrated the grand opening of the new Health Center in Los Angeles, marking an important milestone in providing members and their families with convenient, high-quality health care.
The grand opening program featured remarks from Fund leaders and trustees, including Executive Director Kristin Reeg, UNITE HERE Local 11 Co-President Kurt Petersen, and Employer Trustee Yohanys Lamas-Castro. Member Carmen Vega also shared her experience receiving care at the Dental Center. The celebration concluded with a city commendation from Los Angeles City Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez and a blessing from Reverend Gary Williams of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
The 15,000-square-foot facility, built with 100% Union labor, brings medical, dental, and member services together under one roof. The medical office, which is operated in partnership with MLK Community Healthcare, features eight primary care exam rooms, a treatment room, laboratory services, as well as a multilingual clinical and support team. The full-service dental center includes full-time dentists, hygienists, specialists, and support staff.
Following the program, guests toured the new Health Center and saw firsthand how the Fund is bringing accessible, member-focused care to UNITE HERE Local 11 members and their families.
